Cheraw State Park

Hey there! Today we visit Cheeraw State Park! This park is really nice and they have a large lake, campground, golf course, trails, and more! Make sure you have plenty of time to enjoy the park, pick a camping spot and stay a few days.
There's a nice beach area by the main office and you can rent small boats here as well. You can see the campground across the lake and several trails start here.
We took the boardwalk trail, it runs along the lake to a small dam and the campground. The trail is a mix of boardwalk and regular flatland. The boardwalk is really cool and gives you great views of the lake! Round trip is under 2 miles.
The dam is small, there's a footbridge you can walk across. You can walk down below the dam. Keep going and you'll end up at the campground.
This is an absolutely beautiful state park, great for a day trip or a longer stay. There's plenty to do and see, there's even a special area for an endangered woodpecker species! As always I ended up with more pictures than room, so be sure to scroll to see a few more pictures. Be sure to read all our state park adventures on this blog, and then visit our website to see the pictures that didn't make it in the blog, and in higher resolution (Blog pics are reduced quality to help with space/load times). Fine art prints are available for purchase at our site also. Be sure to connect with us on social media! All this can be found at our site:
