Lake Wateree

Hey there! Today we visit Lake Wateree State Park! This island park is surrounded by lake Wateree. It's a large park with plenty to see and do. Make sure you have plenty of time to enjoy the park when you visit!! The main area has a little shop, several picnic areas and the start to some trails. We visited in the fall, they were selling pumpkins!
From here we headed to the Desportes island trail, we caught a squirrel fight!! The trail head starts right from the parking lot.
The trails are mostly flat but have a lot of variety. You'll hike through the woods and along the lake. We ended up hiking 3 miles.

Watch out for fallen trees! There are a few park benches and picnic tables along the trails.
There are some beautiful views of the lake along the trails!
Don't forget to look up!!
This is another beautiful, large park. It's great for a day trip but I recommend staying a few days! As always I ended up with more pictures than room, so be sure to scroll to see a few more pictures. Be sure to read all our state park adventures on this blog, and then visit our website to see the pictures that didn't make it in the blog, and in higher resolution (Blog pics are reduced quality to help with space/load times). Fine art prints are available for purchase at our site also. Be sure to connect with us on social media! All this can be found at our site:
